THE EDIT STANDARD

Every product must earn its place to be included within our Edit.

Skincare Edit exists to make choosing Skincare, Beauty and Wellness easier.

Founded by Claire Miller, a practising skin expert with over 20+ years of experience, and supported where relevant by a trusted network of health professionals, we carefully assess products across skincare, wellness, hair and beauty.

We select for meaningful performance, long-term value and how well a product works in real life, not simply how heavily it is marketed.

What we look for

A clear purpose

Every product must meet a genuine need or play a useful role within a routine. It does not need to be the newest, most expensive or most complicated option. It needs to give us a clear and credible reason to recommend it.

Formulation and evidence

We review the formulation, active ingredients, technology, dosage and available supporting evidence.

We consider what the evidence genuinely demonstrates and distinguish between clinical testing, instrumental testing and customer perception. An impressive ingredient list alone is not enough.

Performance in real life

A product must be effective, but it must also be practical to use consistently.

We consider texture, finish, comfort, layering, wearability, format and how naturally it fits into daily life. A strong formulation only creates value when the customer can—and wants to, use it properly.

A reason to choose it

We consider what makes the product different from the alternatives available.

That may be its formulation, performance, usability, versatility or the way it solves a specific problem particularly well. Every product should strengthen the Edit rather than simply add more choice.

Curated, not crowded

We do not believe that more choice always means better choice.

Our role is to apply experience and judgement to a crowded market, reducing confusion and helping customers avoid unnecessary trial and error. The selection process should be visible, so customers understand why a product has been chosen—not simply that it is stocked.

We don’t follow trends. We edit them out.
