WHAT IT IS:
Activated carbon (also known as activated charcoal) is made from heating carbon in the presence of gas. This process creates small, low-volume pores that increase the surface and help the charcoal trap chemicals. As a result, one teaspoon of activated charcoal has about the same surface area as a football field.

WHY WE USE IT:
Charcoal is used to treat chemical toxicity, and also has positive effects on candida overgrowth, intestinal gas, exposure to mold, radiation, poisons, and pesticides.
